The Royal British Legion Riders Charity Run

On Monday, 17th December 2007, about 30 members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch rode from across the UK to deliver Christmas presents to British and Commonwealth patients at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court near Leatherhead, Surrey.

John Pease Motorcycles donated several leather jackets for an auction that was held near the end of the festivities. The Jackets were auctioned off with assistance from James May (Top Gear presenter) and a grand total of £10,0000 was raised on the day for the 'Help For Heroes Fund'.

One of the aims of the Help For Heroes Fund is to improve facilities and accommodation at Headley Court.

John Pease Motorcycles are proud to be associated with such a worthy cause. The Royal British Legion Riders website can found via the LINKS' section of the John Pease Motorcycles's website.

Tom Sykes signs for Rizla Suzuki

TOM SYKES, top BSB rookie, has joined the ranks of the Rizla Suzuki Superbike team along side his new team-mate, two times Japanese Champion Atsushi Watanabe.

The 22-year-old from Huddersfield had an impressive rookie season in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, riding to sixth place overall. He was runner up in 2006 in the British Supersport Championship and graduated to the Superbike class with a calm and calculated approach which saw him make steady progress through the season. In his first year in the premier class Sykes claimed six front row starts, one pole position and five podium finishes.

“I am very much looking forward to riding for the factory Suzuki team,” smiled Tom. “The team has a full season of development behind it and the GSX-R 1000 has big potential. I’m hoping for a good season and we should hit the ground running at the first round at Brands Hatch. The winter testing schedule will prepare us nicely for the challenge ahead.”

Team Manager Jack Valentine echoed Sykes sentiments as he welcomed him to the team. “Tom had a fantastic season, and I’m very pleased with how it went for him and how he adapted to the Superbike,” said Valentine. “He didn’t rush into it, he just chipped away at his results and towards the end of the season he was consistently on the podium. He is a thinking rider and has a big future ahead of him with Rizla Suzuki.”

Yamaha Win WSB Manufacturers Title

Yamaha has won the 2007 WSB Manufacturers Championship with a 28-point margin following the weekends season finale at Magny-Cours.
Both Yamaha Motor Italia riders put in 100% effort to give the manufacturer the title with Noriyuki Haga taking the double win and Troy Corser coming home in third and fourth.
Haga’s double win was bittersweet as the rider ended the day just two points off the championship title. This is the third time Noriyuki has finished second in the championship.
Corser’s results today means he finishes the 2007 season in fifth place and today saw him take the record for the highest number of WSB race starts ever with 276 – one ahead of Pierfrancesco Chili.

Suzuki B-King Model Launch

Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2001, the B-KING concept machine was highly acclaimed from the moment the covers were lifted.
With such outlandish styling and brutal power, the B-KING's transition from concept to reality has not been an easy one, but uncharacteristically for a concept machine, it has stayed remarkably true to its original form as it gets ready to become reality in Autumn 2007.
We have the Suzuki Launch at John Pease Motorcycles on August 14th, from 4pm till 9pm.
Please call 01376 321819 for more information.
Everyone is welcome, so come down and join the party!
